Over a career spanning more than three decades, she has played a central role in shaping theological scholarship, research, and academic leadership in Ghana and beyond.

Professor Bediako has been closely associated with the Akrofi-Christaller Institute of Theology, Mission and Culture (ACI), where she has served for approximately 35 years. During her tenure, she rose steadily through the academic ranks, culminating in her promotion to full professor in 2020. Her leadership at ACI has been both extensive and influential. She served as Deputy Rector of the Institute from 2008 to 2022, contributing significantly to institutional development, academic programming, and research advancement. Following her retirement from this administrative role, she continues to serve the Institute on a post-retirement contract as a professor, reflecting her enduring commitment to scholarship and mentorship.

In addition to her role as Deputy Rector, Professor Bediako was the Director of the Centre for Primal and Christian Spirituality at ACI, a research center dedicated to exploring the interface between indigenous religious traditions and Christian faith. She further obtained a Master of Arts with Honours in Religious Studies and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from University of Aberdeen, Scotland. Her doctoral work laid the foundation for her lifelong research interests in Christian history and spirituality, particularly within African contexts.

Her academic experience also extends beyond Ghana.
