The Carl Christian Reindorf Archives (CCRA) is an archive and special collection unit within the Johannes Zimmermann library at the Akrofi-Christaller Institute of Theology, Mission and Culture (ACI) . The archive preserves and organises important historical materials, including old documents, rare books, artifacts, maps, diaries, manuscripts, letters, indentures, minutes and audio-visual items offering valuable insights into past events, people, and cultures, while safeguarding a wide range of records connected to communities, church activities, mission work, and the Presbyterian Church of Ghana. These items offer a comprehensive and insightful glimpse into the past, documenting significant events, figures, and moments in Ghana's religious and cultural history, African Christianity, and the African influence on global Christianity.
The materials described here are made available for use in research, teaching, and personal study. There may be specific use or access restrictions on some materials. If you find something of interest and would like to request it or learn more, please use the request button to provide your contact details and any relevant information or notes you want the archives to address.
For materials housed within the archives, the unit is located within the Johannes Gottlieb Zimmermann Library Complex, Akuapem-Akropong in Ghana and is open on Mondays - Fridays 9:00am - 4:30pm GMT. While no appointment is necessary to visit, we strongly recommend contacting us at archives@aci.edu.gh when planning a visit or with questions about our collections. Search Tips:

- Combine multiple search criteria, such as record type (e.g., archival objects, accessions), date range, or location to narrow down your results.
- Enclose phrases in quotation marks to search for exact matches, such as "oral history interview."
- Create advanced searches by clicking the plus (+) button to add a new line to your search.
- Use the Boolean operators “AND”, “OR”, and “NOT” to combine or exclude search terms, like "letters AND diaries NOT photographs."
